Was signed by Alan Buckley during the summer of 2007 to fight for the number one jersey with Phil Barnes.
Barnes' constancy limited the former Rotherham keeper's appearances last season but he decided to sign a new deal with the Mariners this summer.
The highly-rated young keeper came through the ranks at Coventry and made his debut againstChelsea in a League Cup tie just a day after his 19th birthday.
He then went out on loan to Crewe and Kidderminster but was sent off in only his second game for the Harriers.
He returned to Highfield Road to make eight league appearances in 2002/2003 before being signed by Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore in 2003.
The move was aimed at giving Montgomery a chance to break into the first team but he never really established himself and was allowed to leave in 2007.
